A dinner with cousins, a reunion around a delicious local meal. The visit to the vegetable garden, vineyard, and poultry farm was canceled due to rainy weather, but we were able to explore the property's 16th-century wine cellar with its bats. A pleasant, festive moment to relax with the family.
We enjoyed excellent dishes prepared with the property's fresh produce. Here's the menu:
STARTERS
- Marinière of field cherry tomatoes, artichokes, and ricotta, with bread crusts
- An egg from the estate's hens in Meurette sauce (Bourgeuil wine sauce, carrots, and red beets)
- Salad with ten raw and cooked vegetables (picked that day from the estate's vegetable garden)
MAINS
- Grilled duck breast, roasted orchard figs, fig leaf jus
- French sirloin steak larded with foie gras, local Cabernet Franc reduction
DESSERTS
- The dessert of the day made with fruit from the estate's orchards (vine peaches and raspberries)
